The best thing is to try to recover the key. There are tools out there that can help, but may take some time if you changed the identity of the machine. Unless the PC is part of the same domain or workgroup where it was before, it may take several days. You need a password hacking tools and an archive of file recovery mechanism of the sample and the computer SID. That, unfortunately, can not do much if the SID has changed the format.
