Where can I buy 2.5 HDD Adapter Kit?
@rhodlhey I just updated the description of the video with a link to a USB hard drive adapter. Check other replies in comments below for the source of this adapter; USB is much easier though.
hello. do you know if i can data recover my 250gb Seagate FreeAgent Go portable hard drive using this technique?
It wont even get detected from my pc when i plug it up via usb, and when it does get recognized it freezes my pc.
so if i was to do this technique do you think it would be able to read?
Thanx in advance
I have never done that, but I would suspect you could if you took the unit apart.
Question is, though, how is the adapter different than the enclosure? – not too much.
Does the drive sound like it’s spinning? Please use the support forum on my website for further assistance, much easier & faster.
thanks.
ok thanks.
p.s. yes the drive is spinning. and it has the adat (whatever its called) with the power and data things
jcdent798310, i got seagate Freeagent also 500gb, if you do try can you please tell me the outcome, i also got 320 seagate both are fucked, i will never buy from seagate anymore
is not a rocket science, all you have to do is go into seagate website and you ll understand all, is full of Data Recovery Services, surely they must know that their hard drives suck, fukin bastards
i kno rite!?
well i didnt buy it mos got it for cheap cheap. brand new.
but this was the last thing i expected to happen
see i seen sum services, seagate say they was going to charge. which in this case i dot mind.
but i seen sum others that said if te data cant be saved no charge. aka if they TRY to get data and FUCK UP then they gun say it cant be recovered.
sooo um a little scared at dat.
oh and i need dat ide to adat thingy so i cant do it yet. (cheap on ebay for like $2.30)
Thanks, that was pretty straight forward info.
my hdd crashed, i very carefully swapped the discs with a good but blank hdd without toching the disks, they were both completely useless after and the laptop would not even recognise either of them !!!!!!!!
i have a different hard disc to the one shown it doesnt have pins more like slots (male)
You have a SATA hard drive the one in the video is a IDE hard drive
the link is for SATA drives. THANKS FOR MAKING ME EXCITED ABOUT SOMETHING I CAN’T USE.
The one in this video is the same type I have, sop why link to something you can’t use?
The Vantec adapter works on IDE and SATA. Quite versatile.
Roger.
O really? Ok then
can i recover my data from 2 years ago
even if i have reinstalled Windows ?
that what i am looking 4
@tRnKalcHi03 you can recover your data even if have installed a new Windows! I did this last year to recover all the files….there will be some files missing but not all of them, just a few…I’m having the same issue as at the moment ( completely erased all my file accidentally).I forgot the software name which I used last year…I think it was “RecoverMyfiles” software.~You will also need the sata/Ide kit, which I need as well. Did you reinstall windows on your computer harddrive or laptop?
no you cant recover it maybe if it had been 2 days since you deleted but no you cant in 2 years because its al overwrittten
thanks…. very helpful
