Need good utility for fixind hard disk errors .?

I have 79 gb of unpartitioned disk space , and when I try a clean install of windows xp there , in gives me the bsod , and tels me something about setupdd.sys . The suse Linux installer also gives me errors with that disk .When I format the disk from windows , the windows installer from the cd detects it as part of another partition , witch it dose not recognize as ntfs , even though my existing windows installation sees the partitions correctly . I don’t think the hard disk is damaged .Any software that can repair the hard disk without having to erase the whole thing?

use scan disk and defrag already installed on your computer.

click on my computer > move cursor over the drice you want and right click your mouse. click on properties.

you could really save yourself a lot of trouble if you would just read the help and support files in your windows start up menu. there is also troubleshooting info in there too for when your computer acts up
