Recovery of deleted files on MAC?
I was wondering that if the software you can get to do this will go back four years, even if the secure trash empty was used, and whether or not it shows the dates the files were deleted?
Secure Empty Trash writes data over the files 7 times, two of which are random data writes. The chances of recovering any usable file that was in the trash at the time of the secure empty are slim to none. Files that were deleted in the normal way without use of Secure Empty Trash could be recovered. Your best bet is with Data Rescue, link below. Are these files worth a $99 outlay that is not guaranteed to get back the files?
By the way, Disk Utility has the option to erase a full drive volume with 35 times overwrite of which 8 are random data! Now, that is really gone, man, as Maynard G. Krebs would have said.
