Now, the hard drive isn’t working properly, whenever I turn it on it makes a very strange sound, like a beep and then a click, over and over several times. Then vista tells me that it doesn’t recognize the device so I can’t even access it to run a disk check or format it.

Can anyone help me to recover the data on the drive? Or at the very least can you help me to access it to reformat it.
